Madame Tussauds Orlando
Client: Merlin Entertainments
Madame Tussauds Orlando focuses on family-friendly American themes and is home to 65 wax figures depicting A-list celebrities, global leaders, music legends, sports champions, super-heroes and historical people. The result is a unique guest experience that educates visitors about the achievements and legacies of these icons, many of whom built the foundation for the American quality of life.
Merlin Entertainments worked with A&ES to produce the static and fully interactive hands-on vignettes for the world-renowned wax museum. Guests can experience more than 500 years of history from Juan Ponce de Leon and Abraham Lincoln to the moon landing and Steve Jobs. After entering the elegant red and gold entrance, guests wander throughout the space, immersing themselves in tactile and audible activities getting close-up and personal time with Madam Tussauds’ figures in each vignette.
A&ES provided detailed shop drawings, sculptured finishes, fabricated moldings, interior signage, and full installations of each scene. Specific LED lighting and dynamic special effects controlled with sensors, triggers, and timers create an in-depth look into American history. Every space is themed to exactly match the legacy of each figure, whether it’s in a football stadium, on the surface of the moon, inside the Oval Office, or on a golf course where the audible “whack” of club the makes guests think they are playing golf with a celebrity. From avant-garde ceilings to complete fabrication of floors, walls, chairs, columns, tables and even sea-going ships, A&ES ensures this travel back in time is as realistic as possible, delivered on time and on budget.
